As the last human man standing on the mining ship Red Dwarf, Dave Lister, the human-evolved Cat, and the hologram Rimmer are left to aimlessly wander the future.

The Red Dwarf crew receive a bag of mail three million years late with bad news for Rimmer. The Holly Hop Drive introduces female versions of the Dwarfers, and they discover there’s a way to go back in time.

Rimmer and Kryten run amok and end up back on Earth in 1993. The Red Dwarf falls into a minefield of Black Holes and the crew faces monsters, self-destruction, and a final 24 hours.

Krysten falls in love, Holly takes control of the ship putting the crew in danger, Rimmer meets himself, and some waxdroids break their programming and wreak havoc.

Smeghead Rimmer is taken prisoner inside his own mind, Kryten the service mechanoid is found wanting by the fearsome Inquisitor and Lister the professional slob uses the luck virus to escape quarantine.

Red Dwarf has been stolen and our intrepid heroes are hot on its trail. Starbug, unable to match its speed, has to take a short-cut to overtake it.

The Red Dwarfers are dead, slain by their future selves in the cliff-hanger that ended season six. But resurrection is a piece of cake compared to the real dilemma confronting Lister.

Red Dwarf itself was absent for most of the last season as the crew had mislaid it, but the mining spaceship now makes a welcome return, having been completely refitted and restored by Kryten's rogue nanobots.

The crew of Red Dwarf are back! They are all somewhat older, but still none the wiser as they embark on a new adventure that takes them back home to Earth. But Earth in 2009 is not everything the boys expected.
